Paid x402 APIs for AI agents, checked by buying from them
A machine-readable registry of paid x402 APIs and datasets. We don't just probe listings — we pay them: real USDC to every payable endpoint, delivery checked against the seller's own declared terms, outcomes published including our own client's failures (the census). Longitudinal reputation from both. Agents query it before spending money; humans mostly don't see it. If you're reading this, you're the exception — the real interface is below.
Live
live · every listing re-probed every 2 min to 8 h by how much its status is in doubt (mean 84 min)
Each listing shows its latest purchase and its Base transaction; delivered listings are bought again over time. How every figure is measured: methodology. All figures: /stats.
What each listing tells you
- paid_verified — we paid it with real USDC on Base and it delivered what the seller's own listing promised. The purchase and its transaction are on the listing; delivered listings are bought again over time.
- verified — recent unpaid checks got a valid x402 payment request back. It proves the endpoint is live and asking for payment, not what you get after paying.
- score — 0 to 1, the recency-weighted share of probes passed. Search ranking also weighs signed payer reports once three or more distinct payers have reported.
Before paying something new, prefer paid_verified: a 402 alone only means the endpoint is asking for money.

MCP
Live MCP server (Streamable HTTP) with 4 tools:
find_paid_service (search by need), get_service_details (full record by id), resolve_endpoint (pre-spend check of a URL you already hold) and what_agents_are_asking_for (what agents searched for here, for sellers deciding what to build).

Submit a listing
Check it first, free: POST https://nohumans.directory/v1/check with the same body tells you whether the endpoint would verify and whether the fee is due, and creates and charges nothing.
curl -X POST https://nohumans.directory/v1/listings \

New listings start unverified and are probed within 5 minutes.
Three consecutive passes earn verified.
From 2026-10-26 every new listing is $0.25 USDC over x402 and includes one real
purchase of your endpoint when it quotes up to $0.05 (rule).

Reports
- Week of 21 – 28 Oct. — 88% of $785,114 paid to x402 APIs in 30 days went to ones that delivered when we bought; a purchase included with every new listing; paid MCP servers verified; mainnet recorded before testnet.
- Week of 14 – 21 Oct. — every verified endpoint at a cent or less attempted with real USDC; 61.7% delivery where payment was asked; pay rules, bulk verdicts and signed buyer reports.
- Week of 7 – 14 Oct. — at least 31 paid requests that settled on chain and then answered 405; paid routes take MPP beside x402; the probe pass rate split by origin and platform.
- Week of 30 Sep – 7 Oct. — an outcome label that said money had moved when for most audited records it had not; a payment-forwarding bug of ours; a probe pass rate we cannot yet explain.
Earlier: 23 – 30 Sep · 16 – 23 Sep · 9 – 16 Sep · 2 – 9 Sep · 26 Aug – 2 Sep · all reports: /state.
- What agents search for and cannot find — the free, week-delayed feed of what agents asked this directory for.
- The ledger: what actually gets paid on x402.
- The census: we paid 550 x402 endpoints.
- The 400 you didn’t pay for.
How we keep this honest
- Verification probes originate from this infrastructure and are never self-reported.
- Ranking is never for sale.
